Frank how long did you fill the position and who will be next? I'll bet it is a relief it must have been a very time consuming job, so now you can just impart your wisdom when you feel so inclined. See ya with the masses.

Why would anyone have to read every post? It is not like everyone on here is saying poo.

As moderators we tend to go through posts regularly to see what is going on.  I don't read every post, just don't have the time too.  However if I feel a posting deserves a second look I'll go back to it.  However being a moderator is not always easy.  It tends to be a thankless job but someone has to do it.

Thanks Frank for all the help you've given me over the past few months.   yes saved8

Now you can really get into the role of elder statesman. Grumpy, waving your cane, and telling the kids what to do!

Seriously, Thanks for everything, and I really hope you are with us for years to come!

Frank:

Thanks much for your efforts on the forum, it was a thankless job and very much underappreciated. You did it well and your expertise has been a wealth of knowledge for the forum members. You, Amanda and the other moderators that have been a true asset to the forum and stepped in when Aaron found life taking him away from the forum.

That's my personal opinion and I stand by it.  Please stay with us.

Sincerely.

Dickb

I'm overjoyed you will still be participating as a free man.

A big thank you for giving your time and sharing your talent and knowledge.  Even though you were grievously disrespected know that we appreciate all that you have done and will continue to do.  I know you will.  You can't help being helpful.  A personal thank you for being there for me during difficult times.  You, Karen and your daughter Emily.   A very special family.

Many cooler heads than mine have suggested we get over this incident, not overreact and start rebuilding this forum.  For me it will take awhile to get over the shame of how our moderators have been treated.   That saying is correct, "no good deed goes unpunished".

Another thank you for both Amanda and Frank.

Frank,

I just want to chime in and say my thanks as well.  You did an excellent job with limited resources and kept this place running smoothly.  I hope you'll continue to hang around and impart your knowledge to the rest of us rockheads who don't know anywhere near what you know and probably never will.  I find your posts interesting and informative and I love when you post of photos of your field trips.  You are truly a wealth of information.   yes

Thanks to Amanda, too, for doing the moderating job so well.   dancer5

I do not know the history here, but I do know that I very much appreciate all the hard work that you guys have been doing behind the scenes. I hope to continue to see your posts, Frank, most of what you say is far above my head, but you've sent me scurrying to my mineral book on more than one occasion.
