Sugilite is commonly spoken with a soft "g" ("ginger"). Most mineral names are pronounced like the its namesake person's name.  The Japanese name Ken-ichi Sugi has a hard "g", like "goat."

The Inca Agate is so versatile and has so many different patterns.  Heres some that did not make the contest.

The pieces I have been working make me think of a strand of the finest Afghan agate beads from centuries ago. I have always wanted to make beads that have  fortification ,  deep color and translucency as did the best beads ever made . Now I think that is possible  again.
