And some gorgeous stuff from Rodney!

Willow Creek

Shattukite from Rodney

This is supposed to be a set, unfortunately I dropped one of the small ones after I took the pictures so they are now skinnier.

This beautiful material also came from Rodney

Rocky Butte from Rare Rocks & Gems that Roy was so kind to cut for me.

Not real sure about this one, also a set but I think it is Binghamite

A comparison shot of this rutilated quartz I did a few months ago. I sold it but before I shipped it out I fine tuned it.  There were a couple of little chipped areas in it that I was hesitant to keep grinding on & I just wasn't satisfied with the clarity of it.  I ground it down some more & then I polished it with some AO that Roy Kim sent me. I had never used the lap on the end of the Genie & I had gotten a leather pad for it so I started out with that.  No dop stick, just holding it with my fingers.  Well, it being my first time & all I didn't do so good.  The durn thing flew out of my fingers, first time that happened, and hit the floor!!!!!!  Thank God it didn't break!  Sooooo I grabbed me a piece of leather & finished it off by hand!!!!!!!!  Can you tell the difference?

Great stuff, I like the Willow best as it has such nice strong and interesting color-contrast.

They are all great, but I'm a sucker for blue and purple so I especially like the Shattukite.  Where is that from?

I got that from Rodney (rckdgr).  He digs it up it.  If he sees this post perhaps he might have a little more to say.

I wish I could say I was sitting on a ton of it but I am completely out
of it. They say it is going to cool off this week so there is a chance I may go to the mine one more time this year. If not, it will be late fall before I have more.

Super nice cabs Donnie. I like them all.

Rodney, I'm not looking to find your mine on a map, but can you say the general location?

The rutilated quartz is really Kool, i love it.  I don't think the yellowish one is binghamite.  When binghamite is finished it usually has a more irridescent and velvety surface, not smooth and shiny, but i have been know to be wrong many times before.

Tim,
This is the Vulture mtn. material. Not exactly on Vulture peak
but in the Vulture range.
