News: This Forum has moved to a new host. Please go to http://lapidaryforum.net/group/index.php and sign up so you can participate. You will no longer be able to post here. It is now a read-only archive.
OK so I have some skinny... For those of you holding out, waiting for the transfer of your membership here to the new forum...
Randy is working on things, and he has help from folks familiar with the software...
However when it comes to memberships, they will only transfer with the archived forum - meaning you still need to create a membership on the new place if you wish to participate. It sucks, I know. However this forum is running on a much OLDER and out of date software platform than the new forum is and the two are not getting along so far which is why Randy enlisted help.
So if y'all could make our lives a touch easier and jump over to http://lapidaryforum.net/group/index.php and get your membership made, it will help. That way if for some bizarre reason things get FUBARED more than they already are with the platform software version conflict, we don't lose y'all.
The OLD administration would remove photos to save on disk space after a period of a few months. The NEW administration doesn't do that. Also the NEW administration, of which I am part of needs you to go and create a membership on the new forum as this one will soon be a read-only archive. Please see the link in my signature line to the new forum. Thank you. http://Http://lapidaryforum.net
The Migration to the new forum server is taking more time than originally planned. Simply put we hit a major snag...
This forum is running on a much much earlier version of software than the new forum. It has created some headaches that Randy is getting help with fixing. We ask for your patience while this process continues.
When things are done this forum will be a fully accessible read-only archive on the new forum. Please go to the new forum and sign up for your membership while we continue the migration process. Thank you.
Nothing has shown up. I was 55fossil on that site as well. My e-mail should also have been the same; Blueowyheegems@aol.com This is not a rush, so it can wait until Enchantra has finished getting ready for her contest. Wishing her well. Neal
I just reset it and sent you email. Let me know if you got it.
Help: I have gone to the new site. I have lost my password from a year ago and cannot log in. It says it has sent me a new password but it never shows up in my e-mail. I had the same problem on this site trying to get a new password. Can someone help me get logged into the password change section of the new forum and get it to send an e-mail to me?
Thanks Robin for taking care of this. I've been more or less not at my computer as I have a contest deadline tomorrow to meet.
If you still cannot log into the forum, I need Robin to drop me a message over on the other forum as I check in there far more often. I will look into things and do a repeat of what I did for PhilNM yesterday.
Amanda, I just signed onto the new site. No problem. Whats next?
Wait. Randy still has to complete the move yet. He works weird hours and long days, so he may not get to the finishing touches till over the weekend. Other than that, if you are able to log in, just start posting.
Just tried, it didn't like my existing password, said it would send email for new password, still waiting....
If you are talking about the new forum... I checked and your membership is active. Not sure why you're having a problem logging in. If you still cannot get in after you get your password emailed to you, let me know and I will look into resetting it manually and letting you know what I set it to.
I see that the other forum has been running for some time now. Are you going to be able to merge the two smf forums? Are the existing user accounts here going to transfer over to the new forum or do we all have to start over and register again on the new forum?
This forum will be merged in as a subforum according to Randy. To my knowledge if you have a current membership here, it will transfer. You can go in ahead of the transfer and create a membership, or you can wait. Randy knows far more of the particular details of the merger than I do. He's been handling the code and server ends of things. I've been handling memberships, building boards and subforums, and very basic things like answering questions.
I do highly suggest going over there and kicking the tires and taking it for a test drive before the merger is final. This way if there are any weird quirks, or flukes of nature we can get them ironed out ahead of time.
The new server is up. The backup here is in progress and anything posted after 11AM Central time today to this forum will not be in the backup and will be lost once the forum has moved. If you wish to start new topics/postings, go to the new site, grab a membership and post.
