General forum guide lines

I am not going into a long drawn out bunch of rules and regulations. Most people have enough forum experience to understand that for the most part it just boils down to treating others as you enjoy being treated.

No spamming 

Your welcome to promote. As a matter of fact, this forum encourages and supports it's members to let us know all about your internet activities. For new members, you are welcome to take advantage of getting your website banners as well as actual items from your websites placed within the two members marquee boxes at the top of the forum.

Post and participate regularly for a while and our forum will be happy to promote you. We want to reward active members with as many promotional opportunities as we can.

Members signatures allow for a lot of information about your various websites. I can't emphasize enough how important it is to create an informative signature. It truly is the very best business card that the forum has to offer. Take advantage of it !

Other than that, please let me know if there is anything I can do to help you settle in.

Just a reminder...... , and this does not apply to most members.

We really do enjoy promoting members via the members marquee and items boxes at the top of the forum.

It does not require much to reap the promotional rewards that our forum offers. Simply post two informative posts a week and enjoy the average of 1500 page views a week that the forum is seeing.

I do not look forward to removing members banners and special items they have asked me to list.

You know how I feel about  the free banner people. You have been quite kind on this board and the last board to people that had free banners and have done nothing for this forum. You go out of your way to help promote users on this board. You also promoted Stans knapping site that has nothing to do with cab cutting but to me it  is a form of lapidary. His work is great and he does a different form of working stone. I think carvers, sphere makers and so on should join up here. I said this on our last forum. Just get rid of them!. They do nothing for this board at all. Sorry to sound harsh but I just don't feel people should have a free promotion  run when the rest of us spend our time here being true rockhounds.

That really sums it up nicely, and yes..., I too would love to see new members sign up with interesting and unique lapidary techniques like Stans knapping work.
