My name is Charlotte, and my husband is Dave (aka: Hulagrub.) I am a child of the 60's aka the flower children. I loved to string and wear beads everywhere. Then I got on with my life, never thought about it again until I married this guy named Dave. The man had boxes of rocks in the extra bedrooms. The special ones were in glass jars, some in brown bags and then the rest just here and there. A few years later I asked him about his rocks when I wanted the space and he started telling me all about how he and his dad hunted for rocks all over the place. He then showed me how they had tumbled and how they had made a saw to cut them and finally how they had built some thing that allowed them to polish their special finds. His father was gone by then and I thought he must have some kind of dormant gene thing that could cause such a intimate bond with those dirty rocks. I kept my mouth shut and he kept the rocks. Earlier on a trip to Colorado he had stopped at some rock shops and bought me some earrings and a necklace. You know the only rocks I cared about at that time were the diamonds. Then when our grandson came to live with us he somehow brainwashed him into picking up rocks and bringing them into the house. They polished them and then my precious grandson tells me to make a necklace and wear it to work. I knew I had to do it....... and I did and something happened to my brain. I started really looking at the rocks and I started seeing beauty in them. Then the next thing I know I am leaning how to cut and polish stuff and how to wire them up to make a necklace. I was making so many that I started giving them to the staff and they were beautiful. Then we started planning our vacations to go and find rocks, we joined a rock club.......... I just don't know where this will all end. But I have rocks in my house, I have rocks in the flower beds, and Dave built a shop and they are everywhere out there.
All this to say I beliee I am a rock hound too.

Welcome Charlotte. Dave is lucky that you are so understanding and now infected with the ROCK1N Flu virus. Usually, people get infected a lot quicker, especially when the house is full of those infectious rocks. I think if we all took the time to "infect" a few others, we would have a lot more people beating down the door. My wife is somewhat infected, but also somewhat immune due to the Quilting - Fiber Artist virus she had already. I keep the walkin closet full of rocks, but she is still trying to get me to clean them out. I guess i can see her point when there's rocks in front of her clothes and she can't get dressed in there. Welcome again Charlotte.

Welcome Charlotte, This disease gets progressively worse and there is no known cure. It can be treated effectively by a diet of the proper kinds of rock.
Here's to an effective treatment.

Charlotte, Welcome. The good part of your addiction is that you already have the equipment!
