I had hoped to have this one finished for my case so I could show it last weekend at the Roseville show. Unfortunately, I didn't get it finished in time. I will have it in my case at the CFMS show next month.
It is Amethyst Sage Agate without any Amethyst colors. It is 5" across.

Beautiful and wonderful dendritics. Nice and I think a bit unusual white color for Amethyst Saga?

Very nice, and great photograph.  Do you have a permanent photo set-up, where you can keep making consistently great photos like this?  Or, do you have to reset the lighting up each time?

I have a rather simple setup. It is two photo reflectors. The one on the right has a 250 Watt blue photoflood bulb  BCA 250w 4800 deg K., the one on the left has a 26 Watt/ELS-m 5000 deg K spiral flourescent lamp. The background material is plain white copy paper.

I made a small gizmo out of plastic parts from a local plastics store. The top disk has clear double stick Scotch tape to hold the cabs. It holds the cab off the surface so that I get better light from the rear and it keeps the background from adding distractions.

A side view.

The lights turned on.

My camera is a Canon EOS Rebel XT with a zoom lens EF-S 18-55mm
I hand hold the camera at about 8" away from the cab, let the camera do its autofocus and snap the photo.
I download the photos into my computer using the Windows Photo Gallery, do some exposure corrections and crop the distractions out of the picture. I then load them into Photobucket, resize to 17" screen and post them. So far this has worked OK for me. I'm not a very sophisticated picture taker, though.

Thanks, very nice Shocked)
I tend to either get a glaring reflection and when I try filters, the color gets all muddy.  I may just need to play with my lighting.
